Gap Optimizer – Servo Meter Belt

The FKI Logistex Gap Optimizer is a single servo-motor driven conveyor which dynamically adjusts its speed to provide a consistent carton gap without impeding carton flow.

As a case makes its transition from the Gap Optimizer, the processor checks the position of the next box upstream. If the gap is too small or too large, an adjustment is required. Based on the distance the box has to travel before it makes its transition from the Gap Optimizer, the processor determines the optimum acceleration or deceleration rate, how long it must accelerate or decelerate, and how long it should hold at high or low speed. The maximum speed of the Gap Optimizer is 3.6 m/sec (700 ft/min).
