Cross-Docking Systems

Cross-Docking Conveyor
Cross-Docking Conveyor

Over the past decade, cross-docking has emerged as a material handling technology that can meet the high-throughput demands of the modern warehouse and distribution center. Cross-docking enables the quick movement of product from the receiving dock to the shipping door, dramatically cutting the supply chain from the receipt of merchandise to the retail floor. Additional benefits include the reduction of multiple handling activities, resulting in significant cost savings in inventory and material handling.

FKI Logistex cross-docking systems use advanced conveyor and sorter technology to receive, sort and deliver cases of goods. At various strategic positions in the cross-docking system, bar code or RFID scanners identify the product, allowing the product to be tracked throughout the distribution center and enabling the center’s warehouse management system (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP), or order tracking systems to provide inventory status and destination instructions.

FKI Logistex cross-docking systems offer the ability to cross-dock 90 percent or more of a distribution center’s goods, resulting in faster delivery to your stores at a lower cost, which contributes directly to your bottom line. FKI Logistex cross-docked systems also provide the capacity to consolidate distribution centers or warehouses, offering further supply chain savings.
