Center Row Sorter

The Center Row Sorter represents the latest in high-speed sliding shoe sortation design from FKI Logistex. Two independent lines of product are simultaneously transported over the sorter’s flat slats, each fitted with sliding shoes. These shoes are guided by a track under the sorter bed. Electrical solenoid-operated divert switches interrupt the track at predetermined points to release the needed number of shoes to divert a given package. The shoes gently and positively divert the product off of the sorter onto a take-away conveyor.

The Center Row Sorter can operate at speeds of up to 600 feet per minute (3 m/sec), yielding a carton throughput rate of over 450 cartons per minute. Since the Center Row Sorter can induct two individual lanes of product simultaneously, dual functions within a warehousing operation can be combined into one sorter. This feature results in decreased usage of floor space, reduced electrical consumption, lowered maintenance costs and increased productivity.
