UniSort® LBS

The UniSort LBS (Linear Belt Sorter) represents the latest in sortation design from FKI Logistex. Product is introduced onto a series of moving slats, each of which contains a traversing flat belt. These belts are used to drive product off of the sorter bed at the proper divert station. Movement of the belts is accomplished by introducing a pin and bearing into a guided track underneath the sorter-carrying surface. Electric divert switches interrupt the track at predetermined points to release the needed number of belts to divert a given package. The belts gently and positively divert the product off of the sorter and onto take-away conveyors or chutes.

The design of the UniSort LBS is such that gaps between the slats of the sorter bed are minimized to near zero. This makes the UniSort LBS ideally suited for products which would normally be difficult to run on a sliding shoe sorter. This allows problematic, odd-shaped, or irregularly-shaped products, such as letter packs, to be diverted easily.
