The FKI Logistex vhswEDGE is a combination of conveyors configured to facilitate high-speed induction into a main conveyor line. Using servo motor technology allows the vhswEDGE to space, build and release slugs of product into a main conveyor line prior to a sliding shoe sorter.
The vhswEDGE is ideally suited for systems requiring four or more infeed lanes. Cartons are accumulated prior to the belting system that makes up the lanes of the vhswEDGE system. The belting system measures and sets carton gaps, and then stages cartons for release onto the main line conveyor. Once a full staged lane of product is constructed, the vhswEDGE system releases the products onto the main line conveyor.
The vhswEDGE system has been designed to work at rates of up to 3.3 m/sec (650 ft per minute) and can provide over 330 cartons per minute induction rates (based on an 406 mm (16 in) average carton length and BOSS™ sortation controls).
